Story narratives depict the sequence of events that meld together to tell a beautiful story. They provide a framework and elements like plot, characters, conflict, resolution, etc. to form a story arc that draws readers in and ends in (usually) satisfaction. For example, Harry Potter has a fantastic story narrative that pulls the reader (or watcher) in and tells the story leading to the conflict, climax, and eventually, the resolution, introducing characters along the way.
This is a great example of a story narrative. Without the opportunity to get to know the characters and become immersed in the story because of the conflict and dying to know the resolution, stories would be a lot less interesting.
It would be like if Harry Potter never found out he was a wizard and continued to live with the Dursleys until he eventually went off to college and found a future job for himself. Sure, it could be interesting, but, would it be as interesting as being visited on vacation by a giant only to find out you're secretly a wizard? Probably not.
This helps us to take into account the importance of the narrative in all genres and stories.
