I had the opportunity to interview my mom and ask her questions I've always wanted the answers to! Here's how it went:
How did you come to believe or know that the gospel was true? I don't know that it's true but I have faith that it's true. I learned to see God's hand in my life and had opportunities to practice living by faith.
How have you been able to strengthen your relationship with your Heavenly Parents and Savior? I think a lot of it for me is talking to them as if they're really there and listening and feeling like I'm given inspiration when I talk or pray with them about things that stress me out, worry me, or make me scared. When I earnestly pray I feel like I can see their hands in my life more readily.
What's your best dating advice? Become the type of person you want to date and you'll attract the type of people you'd eventually want to spend eternity with. Learn how to communicate and be an honest communicator.
How do you know when you've found "the ONE"? For me, there was a sense of peace and excitement and acknowledgment that the person I was choosing was not only good and healthy for me but helped me want to become a better person. I wanted to do life with that person.
If you could only eat one food or dessert for the rest of your life what would it be? I would want my spring roll bowls because then I can change it up. You can add more mangoes or cucumbers and carrots. If I had to pick one thing, it'd be that. They're my favorite!
Biggest piece of life advice? Learn to feel grateful and look for opportunities to be grateful.
What is your favorite scripture and why? Be still and Know that I am God, I actually don't know which one that is but it reminds us to slow down and be grateful, to recognize God's hand in things. Our Heavenly parent's plan will end up being the best plan.
What is something you hope to see change in the world? I hope people can learn to be kinder, reach out when they someone in need, and take the time to help when someone is hurting.
What gets you out of bed in the morning? The excitement of a new day, new things to learn and experience. Beauty all around me, and time spent in nature working out in the morning. Practice feeling grateful including my human body! The beauty of the world we live in is motivating, spending time with my family, I don't have time to lay in bed and waste time learning. I still have so much to learn.
If it were your last day on earth what would you spend it doing? I would spend it with my family. We would play in the waves and lay on the beach and read our books. We would laugh, tell stories, and feel grateful. We would also have a charcuterie board picnic, with no mosquitoes or sunburns and birds flying around us.
